Captain Ryan was friendly, knowledgeable, and knew exactly where the fish were biting. We limited out on Black Drum and Speckled Trout and had an incredible time on the water. We highly recommend him and will definitely book another trip the next time we are in town.

Captain Ryan is a true gem to this area! He is patient, polite, funny in the right moments, and wonderful with kids. He taught my 6 and 7 year old boys how to set their hooks and reel in “the biggest and rarest fish” of their lives. He encouraged them, rooted for them, and did a great job making sure that we were catching fish! We all had a fabulous time, and would encourage anyone looking for a family friendly guide to book Ryan!

I highly recommend Ryan for a fishing guide. He went above and beyond to make sure my nephews caught their first fish in the bay memorable! He was very patient with them, nice, and professional. 5/5 stars! 🌟 My mom, sister, and I had a nice time fishing as well. We will definitely be calling him again to go fish next time we come this way.

We had family visiting from out of town and thought a day on the water would be the perfect way to spend time together. Even with less-than-ideal conditions, Captain Ryan of McCain’s Shallow Water Experiences worked hard and put us on several schools of fish. We ended the day with beautiful redfish, black drum, and speckled trout, along with plenty of great memories and several delicious dinners to look forward to. Trip - Execute An All-Day Flatline Assault Across Upper Laguna & Baffin Bay on April 8, 2026

We had family visiting from out of town and decided a day in the water would be a wonderful shared experience. Despite less than ideal conditions, Captain Ryan of McCain’s Shallow Water Experiences persevered putting us on multiple schools of fish. The result: a great day with the family and some beautiful redfish, drum, and speckled trout that will not only make for great stiries but several wonderful dinners. Thanks Capt. Ryan!

I took my son on his 10th birthday fishing trip. with my other son 12 and my father 75. We have fished all over the world. But this day was something special. Ryan is the MAN. All i can say is we left the boat and booked another trip. Fishing was incredible, but more so Ryan and his way of creating an experience was what made the day it was. Plus we caught so many good fish it was so fun!

Trip - Full Day Advanced Fishing Trip In Corpus Christi, TX - Redfish, Trout And Black Drum on October 2, 2025

Captain Ryan put us on the fish. My first cast,first red was one of my top three personal bests, in the 25 plus (lbs not inches) range. We had to toss lots of over the slot reds to get a limit, with several keeper trout in the mix. Just a great trip!!! Thank you Captain Ryan!!!
